What is a Direct Cremation?

When someone dies, we take them from their place of death to a certified mortuary in a respectful and dignified manner, available 24/7 and usually within 2–3 hours of death occurring. Before arranging the cremation, we complete the required paperwork with you over the phone at a time that suits you, and we also collect all necessary medical certifications from the doctors involved so you don’t need to worry about this. Once all paperwork is complete, we arrange the cremation in accordance with Australian Government standards at an approved and licensed facility, and after the cremation is complete, we return the ashes to you in a biodegradable urn of your choice, usually within 3 weeks.

We collect the person

After we finish talking with you, our next phone call is to book the transport for the person that has died. We collect them from where they died and bring them to our certified mortuary partner.

We complete all the paperwork

With the information we've gathered from you we complete the official processes of the medical certification needed, plus all the relevant details for the registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages to complete the death certificate.

The cremation is
done

The cremation is completed at a licensed and regulated cremation facility in Sydney. Where possible we will let you know the day and time the cremation is to take place. Before the cremation is completed we will arrange payment from you. We will also ask your preference on returning the ashes. See the Urn Selection.

We personally deliver the ashes to you

Using the details we collect from you, we take care of all official requirements, including completing the necessary medical certification and submitting all relevant information to the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages .
